My Sister's Helper...

It's already begun~
I have officially become
my little sister's helper.
This actually started quite
some time ago, but mommy finally
captured it with a photo!
I adore my little sis, and I
love showing her how to do things
like work the toys on her excersaucer.
I am also a pro at making her laugh...
I made up a rhyme that goes like this:
"A Maggie taggie waggie saggie..."
I say this to her when she is feeling blue,
or just to get a little giggle out of her!
I keep telling mommy:
"Someday, when I am older & I'm a mommy,
I will take care of Maggie for you!"
Mommy LOVES this idea, and is
amazed that this concept has already
been planted inside my almost 3 year old heart.
She feels like her big sis, Aunt Jen Jen,
has ALWAYS taken care of her and it
warms her heart to know I am
continuing this sisterly tradition!

Magpie Is Four Months Old...

Our angelic lil' Magpie...

Here's my sisters stats folks...
dum ta da dum...
(that's a drum roll y'all)

Magpie is weighing in at 11.14 lbs
AND she is 24.5 inches long!
She's still a teeny tiny thing
but Dr. J said she is perfect!
She still has some issues with reflux...
She can't keep all her milky in her tummy
poor thing~Never was an issue for moi!
Mommy is going to continue nursing
Maggs, but is adding a little formula, too
which should help M gain a little weight, we hope!

I am so thankful to have
my sis. We can't believe
it's already been 4 months since
she was born. Life is so much richer
with a sister...

"Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, no sir,
I'm there to keep my eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed home
All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain and sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man."

by Irving Berlin

p.s.Mommy loves this in White Christmas
and says Merci Beaucoup to Aunt Sum
for introducing her to this gem!

Mommy's Thought For Thursday: Better Than I Ever Imagined...

My sweet little sister souls...
Paisley Grace and Magnolia True
Maggie's newborn session)

Life
It's good
Crazy
Chaotic
Frazzled
Exhausted.

BUT...It's good.
I am a mommy of two...
Spit up
Milk boob
Tears
Tantrums
Achy body
Ponytail hair.

BUT...it's good.
Each passing day brings...
Adventure
New experiences
More spit up,
Poop,
and tears.

BUT... it also brings me a bit
closer to the woman I am becoming
as I grow and change
as a mommy of 2.
Some days I really miss
the old me and
the easy life of having
only 1 child and even
the far off days of no children.
Life without
the responsibility of
caring for 2 little souls.

My selfish life.
The days of sleeping in.
Traveling solo.
Wearing clothes that
didn't need to mask
spit up
drool
milk
and poop.
Having cute hair
Wearing heels
Staying up past 10
(oh, wait...I rarely did that!)

Yes, I miss those luxuries.
And there are many days I
am jealous of those who live that life...
BUT...This life, with my hubby and
my 2 girls is so much better than
I ever imagined.

With each passing day
I get a little closer to knowing
the new me. The enhanced version of me.
The me that is a mom of daughters.
Daughters that I will
continue to...
laugh
sing
dance
and
cry
with.
Daughters that will
continue to...
help
teach
nurture
and
enrich
me.
Yes, this life
is so much better than
I ever imagined.

J'adore My Baby Sister...

I love holding my baby sister...
She is so tiny...
Look at her wiggling around...
J'adore being a big sis!
I think I will get use to this...
Kisses for my little sis, Maggs...

Well, Maggs has been with us for almost 2
whole weeks and I think it is safe to say
that we are all in love with her around here!
She has the cutest little feet and hands...
I love petting her head and holding her little hands!
I even speak to her with a soft, sweet little voice
(I don't want to startle her!) Mommy and daddy
are happy to report they are surviving as well,
even with a lack of sleep the past 2 nights.
I think mommy will be reevaluating her consumption
of Guerro's or any other Tex-Mex and spicy food while
nursing Maggs. Yikes! Miss M did not like it!
Last night, M decided she wanted to be awake for a
few hours in the middle of the night so, daddy popped
in a dvd he had been wanting to watch...this is when mommy
is glad he is a bit of a night owl and insomniac!
All in all, life at the Abdine house is quieting down
with all our visitors having gone back to California.
Mom and dad are curious to see how baby and big
sister boot camp goes in the next few weeks.
We know it will take us a little while to get into the groove...

Wish us patience, restful sleep,
and the ability to keep our sense of humor!
(especially mom and dad~ they will need it!)
